A medal for the Diamond Jubilee

It is a marriage anniversary that is by no means granted to every couple: Erna and Martin Maier from Grucking have been married for 60 years and now celebrated their diamond wedding with relatives, friends and neighbors at the Gasthaus Rauch in Grucking. Grandson Martin had come up with a special surprise for grandma and grandpa and presented them with a medal with the imprint "60 years of marriage".


It is a marriage anniversary that is by no means granted to every couple: Erna and Martin Maier from Grucking have been married for 60 years and now celebrated their diamond wedding with relatives, friends and neighbors at the Gasthaus Rauch in Grucking.

Grandson Martin had come up with a special surprise for grandma and grandpa and presented them with a medal with the imprint "60 years married".

Grucking - Martin Maier was born in Grucking in February 1934 and grew up with two brothers in Grucking.

He completed his school days in Reichenkirchen.

He then worked as a bricklayer and later in the alloy wheel X-ray department at BMW until his retirement in 1994.

Erna, née Fiebig, comes from Silesia and was born there in March 1934.

She grew up with five sisters and four brothers.

In 1953 the jubilee came to Erding.

She worked as a cook in the Erdinger Hospital, then she worked in the Inninger Allwerk clothing factory.

In the spring of 1955, it sparked at the Peis wedding in Reichenkirchen.

Eventually a house was built at the husband’s home.

“We got married on October 20, 1961 and moved in,” reports the cheering couple.

Today the cheering couple, Anita and Martin, can look forward to two grandchildren.

"With Feris and Pia-Maria, Anita has already taken care of two great-grandchildren who come to visit us regularly," said the great-grandparents happily.

Martin Maier's great hobby is woodwork, but he also likes to go fishing.

“And when the weather was nice, we went hiking in the mountains,” says his wife Erna, who recently needed a wheelchair.

Her husband is a member of the Reichenkirchen Warrior and Soldier Association, of which he is an honorary member.

Erna's hobby was always gardening, which is unfortunately no longer possible, she especially likes flowers.

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer and Mayor Hans Wiesmaier also congratulated.
