Murnau - Together for climate protection and across continents: Pupils from the German Ghanaian School in Atwima have planted their own small forest on their school grounds.
The primary school children from the Emanuel von Seidl primary school in Murnau collected the money for the trees.
120 seedlings were brought into the prepared soil by the children with technical support from the regional forest authority and immediately supplied with water.
With high humidity, under the southern sun and the watchful eyes of the primary school children, the young trees in the partner region of the Murnau market now find optimal growth conditions.
This planting campaign was financed by selling chives bread at the Emanuel von Seidl primary school in Murnau.
Both primary schools are committed to climate protection and support each other in environmental campaigns.
With the jointly organized planting campaign, the students from both countries have now set another sign of their lively friendship.
Now everyone is curious to see how fast the trees grow in Ghana and when the first elementary school children in Atwima will take a break in the shade of their own forest and eat the delicious fruits of their mango and ake trees.
