Nicola Bräunling was visibly happy when she finally held the prestigious award in her hands.
The businesswoman was presented with the prize for Bavaria's best bookstore by Art Minister Bernd Sibler at the PUC cultural center.
Puchheim - The award is endowed with 7,500 euros and was presented for the fifth time this year.
Sibler praised: “With her bookstore, Nicola Bräunling has created a true place of culture in the city.” Mayor Norbert Seidl also appreciates this.
“With her bookstore, she succeeds in strengthening togetherness in the city through a colorful variety of activities.” A real stroke of luck.
The award from the Bavarian Ministry of Art honors the commitment of booksellers on site, in a real shop and with literature that you can touch.
They would help shape cultural life through competent advice, inspiring ideas and excellent networking.
They also protect the book as a valuable cultural asset, as it is called.
In the case of the Bräunling bookstore, the jury praised how a comparatively small shop asserts itself against major competition due to its proximity to the state capital.
Bräunling and her team confidently use resources to retain customers - not least through social media.
A success story for 15 years.
The native of Hamburg also thinks not only commercially, but also socially.
Here, too, she makes a contribution on site.
So she had launched an aid project for refugees in a very unbureaucratic way.
Customers could donate books for them.
