Bad Wiessee - New possibilities are opening up when it comes to childcare in the Tegernsee Valley.

Bad Wiessee plans to build a new daycare center by 2024.

The municipality of Bad Wiessee wants to be nothing less than the most family-friendly municipality in the Tegernsee valley.

“That is our claim,” said Mayor Robert Kühn now.

He had invited the regional media to present the plans for a new daycare center.

This should be ready in 2024 and offer 100 kindergarten and 60 crèche places.

The municipality will spend around 9.3 million euros on this.

Kühn expects a rapid increase in the need for daycare places.

He would therefore like to expand the infrastructure.

Childcare must also be guaranteed in order to counteract the labor shortage in the interests of the Wiesse companies.

Kühn therefore sees the new daycare center as a locational advantage.

It is to be created on Sanktjohanserstraße, south of the way to school.

Three buildings measure around 60 meters

The crib building that is currently located there has to go.

The sports field is being relocated.

Three contiguous individual buildings are planned on the area that will be freed up, as architect Simon Bauer from the Strasser planning office explained.

In the house on the main road, he is planning the kitchen and dining room on the ground floor.

The facility managers have offices above this.

Employee areas are also planned there.

In the two western buildings, the crèche will be built on the ground floor and the kindergarten on the first floor under the sponsorship of the Tegernseer Tal evangelical daycare center.

The Tegernseer Tal Catholic Kita-Verbund is responsible for this.

Costs of 12.3 million euros

Access is via a central entrance area.

By staggering the buildings, as the architect put it, the complex does not appear to be such a massive block.

After all, the three structures together measure around 60 meters.

The wooden facade with vertical and horizontal elements loosen up the view.

He has also planned nine apartments on the upper floors - from four-room apartments to one-room apartments.

There is funding for municipal housing as well as for day-care centers.

The total costs are estimated at 12.3 million euros.

The municipality expects around 3 million euros in grants.

Work across ages

However, it not only creates urgently needed living space - possibly for daycare staff - and the opportunity to meet increasing demand for care.

The facility will also host an integrative children's group.

“That has to be taken for granted,” said Mayor Kühn.

Pastor Martin Weber as a representative of the Protestant day care center Tegernseer Tal was enthusiastic about the future possibilities: "We have the chance to create our own concept and work across all ages." There is currently no such integration option in the entire Tegernsee valley.

Children with a corresponding need still have to be brought to Hausham at the moment.
