The Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND) calls on Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) to include the environmental associations more closely in its dialogue with the car manufacturers and the IG Metall trade union.
State chairwoman Sylvia Pilarsky-Grosch said on Wednesday in Stuttgart that the state ministry had decided to restructure the “automotive industry strategy dialogue” and no longer treat “society and mobility” as a separate topic.

"The consequences for mobility behavior and jobs resulting from these premises must be discussed more broadly with the population and environmental associations than is now laid out in the strategy dialogue," said Pilarsky-Grosch.
It lacks consideration of all socially relevant topics such as climate and resource protection, urban and spatial planning, social aspects, noise protection and curbing land consumption.
