Corona outbreak at Nuremberg school: More infected people than previously thought

There was a corona outbreak at the Nuremberg Bismarck School.

It is now clear: the number of people infected is about twice as high as previously assumed. 

Nuremberg - 250 children had to be quarantined last week after a corona outbreak at the Nuremberg * Bismarck School.

At that time, 20 students tested positive for the corona virus.

About a week later, the number of infected children has doubled again, and teachers are also affected.

Nuremberg: At least 50 infected people at the Bismarck School 

According to the state education authority in Nuremberg, 46 pupils and four teachers have now tested positive.

The head of the state education authority in Nuremberg, Thomas Reichert, told

that there are no noticeable concentrations of infections in certain classes.

The cases were distributed rather diffusely across all classes. 

Around 100 students are still in quarantine.

These are taught through homeschooling.

For all other students, lessons take place on site as usual. 

Nuremberg: Were missing air filters responsible for the corona outbreak? 

The effectiveness of air filters in schools can hardly be measured.

Nevertheless, one thing is certain: while the city of Nuremberg sees itself on the home straight when installing air filters in classrooms, the Bismarck School does not yet have sufficient air filtration.

There are only five devices distributed across all classrooms.

One possible reason for the corona outbreak.  

Since fire protection work is currently being carried out on the school building, another 22 devices are still waiting to be installed.

This should be done in the autumn break.
