The number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week continues to increase in Saxony.
The current overview of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) showed the incidence value on Wednesday morning with 200.8, after 191.4 the previous day.
The Free State is thus well above the federal value and has the second highest weekly incidence after Thuringia (241.8).
Leipzig - Since Tuesday, 2028 more infections and four deaths have been reported.
The highest incidence value reported on Wednesday the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains with 286.4 followed by the district of Meißen with 274.2.
The city of Leipzig (78.3) and the Vogtlandkreis (100.0) have the lowest weekly incidence.
According to the RKI, 318,661 corona infections have been detected nationwide since the pandemic began in March 2020, and 10,290 people have died in connection with the virus.
