Due to threatening letter: A flight departing from Cairo for Moscow retraced its steps and landed in Egypt Israel today

Flight MS 729 of the Egyptian airline Egypt Airlines, which departed from Cairo for Moscow, was forced to return back to the airport and land due to an emergency.

The state of emergency for which the flight back to Cairo airport was returned was due to a threatening letter being placed on one of the plane's seats.

At this time the contents of the letter have not been published.

A statement from the airline said: "The plane landed 22 minutes after taking off and the passengers returned safely and securely to the ground and airport in Cairo, where all vital operations are being carried out after such an incident."
