A display of biological diversity and a tropical butterfly house will open for the first time in Israel on November 1 at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo.

In the unique display, about 15 species of tropical butterflies will fly freely among visitors. The legs.

The new permanent exhibition, which is launched near the Israel Aquarium, is called the Hillary Tisch Biodiversity and Butterfly House exhibition. In the first phase, the exhibition will open for a run-in period.

The display covers an area of ​​700 square meters, and includes dedicated cabinets and temperature regulators, which contain butterfly pupae - which visitors can watch during their emergence from the pupae and their release into the display space. And camouflage in nature, and includes three types of sticks: an Australian stick, a Vietnamese stick and a giant leaf stick.

A second compound deals with the issue of interactions in nature, and includes a weaver ant and honey bees, which are displayed in a transparent hive.

A third compound deals with the subject of recycling and decomposition, featuring a black leg, diarrhea, copper manure, a black soldier fly and whispering cockroaches.

The fourth complex is dedicated to the cooperation that takes place between insects and agriculture, where exhibits are presented as a representative of the biological pesticide, and grasshoppers - including the famous locust.

The exhibition was established with a donation from the Tish family, in memory of the family member Hillary, and with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism and the Government Tourism Company.

This is in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the Plant Protection Services and the Ministry of Agriculture's audit, based on strict standards - including the hermetic closure of double doors, in a way that ensures the unique climatic conditions in the place, and ensures that butterflies do not leave the compound.
