During a conversation in which the US Secretary of State protested against building permits in Judea and Samaria, the defense minister claimed that Israel would take steps to strengthen the Palestinian Authority.

Defense Minister Bnei Gantz last night (Tuesday) told US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Israel would allow a Palestinian high-tech worker to work within Israel, as part of steps Israel is taking to strengthen the Palestinian Authority.

During a conversation between the two, Blinkan clarified that the United States opposes Israel's intention to promote construction in Judea and Samaria and that the Biden government will respond to the Israeli move. A few hours later, the United States condemned Israel for the move that took place today.

Ganz said in a conversation that the scope of construction to be approved is lower than that approved during the time of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and also added that he will lead parallel measures that will strengthen the Palestinians.

Internal talks in the defense establishment raised a number of steps that Israel is expected to take, including a permit for further construction for the Palestinian Authority, a step that is expected to be implemented as early as this coming Sunday, and additional facilitations in the transfer of goods to and from the Palestinian Authority.
