The World Health Organization announced today that the rate of infections and deaths from the Corona virus increased last week at the global level by 4 and 5 percent, respectively.
The TASS news agency reported that the organization's weekly update shows an increase in the global number of new cases of HIV infection, as more than 2.9 million people were confirmed to be infected during the period between October 18 and 24, while the number of deaths exceeded 49,000.
The European region accounted for more than half of the new weekly cases, after it recorded an 18 percent increase in infections.
According to the data of the International Organization, the number of global HIV infections decreased in five regions, the largest of them in Africa by 21 percent and the Western Pacific by 17 percent.
The organization indicated that almost all countries of the world reported infections with the Corona delta mutant, which continued to spread rapidly during the past three months.
