A Regensburg hairdresser has apparently refused a dry haircut to a customer.
He was annoyed about it.
But the studios are allowed to demand that.
Regensburg - The corona pandemic * has changed a lot in people's everyday lives. So also in that of many hairdressers. Because of the crisis and the associated protective measures, dry haircuts have meanwhile been banned. Instead, every customer, whether they wanted to or not, had to have their hair washed in the salon. In the meantime, however, there is no longer any obligation to do so. The hairdressing salons can still insist on this - in terms of their house rights and freedom of contract.
This is exactly the information that Regensburg * Lothar Schott received from the Ministry of Economic Affairs when he complained that his hairdresser did not want to cut him dry.
The man had turned to the editorial staff of the
Mittelbayerische Zeitung
and described his case.
He was apparently refused a dry haircut at the hairdresser he trusts, although he is advertising it.
Instead, they should have their hair washed beforehand and pay more for the cut later.
That's only a few euros more, but the angry man still thinks that this is a rip off to the detriment of all customers.
No dry haircut at the Regensburg hairdresser: Master of the guild shows understanding
The head of the hairdressing guild for the city and district of Regensburg, Waltraud Mittermair, sees this opinion critically and understands the hairdresser's demands. “Who wants to dig into dirty hair?” She asks the
Central Bavarian
. She herself emphasizes: “I don't do any more dry haircuts.” The reason: In the course of her professional years, she has often seen some customers appear at the hairdresser's with greasy hair. “You don't go to the dentist without brushing your teeth,” she says.
And indeed, some hairdressers in Regensburg no longer offer dry haircuts.
For example Matthias Merl.
He is the owner of the Reitter salon in the Donaueinkaufzentrum as well as two other shops.
He has a total of 33 employees.
"In my salon, it makes three euros for the customer if we wash their hair," explains Merl der
Mittelbayerischen
.
According to a price comparison on the Internet, the additional costs in the comparison of the two cut variants are five euros.
However, Lothar Schott speaks of a whopping ten euros difference in the hairdressing salons in his vicinity.
The Regensburg hairdresser now only offers wet haircuts: Scissors don't break that quickly
For Matthias Merl, however, the innovation is a relief. Not only that the hygienic aspect has gained significantly in weight, but also that the scissors no longer break as quickly. Gel and wax would make the scissors blunt. According to him, however, he is not the only hairdresser who only offers a wet haircut. There are only a few salons left that still rely on the dry cut.
The declaration by the Ministry of Economic Affairs is plausible for Lothar Schott, but he would like the customer to be given the declaration for house rules and freedom of contract.
"But I get annoyed when the pandemic is brought up and that's not true," he says to the
Central Bavarian
.
