Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagri said today (Wednesday) after talks with a senior EU official in Brussels that "we have agreed to resume negotiations on the Vienna nuclear deal before the end of November. The exact date will be set later this week."
Earlier, Iranian media reported that Iran was ready to resume negotiations with three European countries on a return to the 2015 nuclear deal.
"Iran has officially expressed readiness for direct talks with the three European countries that have signed the nuclear agreement," it was reported.

Meanwhile, US envoy to the subject of Iran Rob Malley told a press briefing this week that Biden administration discussed with allies steps that can be taken against Iran if it continues to buy time and return to the negotiating table. Mali refused to specify what steps the United States is examining.
"We've given a lot of thought about "What will be done if Iran does not return to negotiations? We will have different ways of dealing with it. We have ideas and we have talked about them with our allies and partnerships in Europe and the Middle East," Mali said.

The U.S. envoy noted that diplomatic efforts to return to the 2015 nuclear deal are at a "critical stage."
He stressed that the United States is very concerned that Iran is dragging its feet and is not returning to talks in Vienna.
"Iranian excuses are starting to get very worn out," Mali said.
