Israel on Wednesday approved the construction of 3,144 housing units for settlers in the occupied West Bank, the IDF said.
The Civil Administration planning committee has given the final green light to 1,800 housing units and approved 1,344 other constructions, a spokesperson for the military body responsible for civil affairs in the occupied Palestinian territories told AFP.
These authorizations relate to Jewish settlements from north to south of the West Bank.

The announcements come the day after a critical statement by US diplomacy toward Israel's settlement construction policy, with Washington saying it is "deeply concerned."
This is one of the strongest positions taken by the United States on Israeli colonization in the Palestinian territories since the arrival of President Joe Biden to the White House earlier this year.

The Israeli Ministry of Construction also announced on Monday calls for tenders for 1,355 other housing units for settlers in the West Bank.
About 475,000 Israeli settlers reside in the West Bank, an occupied territory home to 2.8 million Palestinians.
Israeli colonization, illegal under international law, has continued under all Israeli governments since 1967.
