Memmingen - In a press release, the Memmingen Clinic announces that from Saturday, October 30th, there will be a restriction on the visiting rules in the city's hospital.
The reason given is that increasing numbers of corona cases would make appropriate measures necessary.
It goes on to say that “the situation in the population shows a very rapidly increasing incidence in our supply area”.
In the last three days alone, the positive external corona recordings would have been plus eleven.
In the previous weeks it was plus two to three per week.
The number of corona patients in the intensive care unit increased from three to seven.
The clinics in our area would also see increasing case numbers.
“For this reason, planned treatments have to be postponed again, if this is medically justifiable.
Maintaining normal operation as far as possible is not compatible with the current corona situation, ”the press release continues.
Visiting rules restricted
In order to protect patients and clinic staff, the existing visiting regulations will therefore be restricted again: From Saturday, October 30th, visits by inpatients will initially no longer be possible at the Memmingen Clinic. The following exceptions apply (with 3G): visiting patients at the end of their life, accompanying them during childbirth, having one parent in the case of underage patients and patients with whom communication is difficult or not due to a corresponding illness (such as dementia or mental illness) is possible.
In principle, the same regulations apply again as in October 2020 at the beginning of the last "winter corona wave".
"The Memmingen Clinic has great understanding for the wish of the patients to receive visitors, but asks for understanding for this necessary measure", one can infer from the press release.
And further: The infection process will be closely monitored and as soon as the development allows, visits will be made possible again and the visit regulation will be gradually relaxed.

The current number of corona patients is given by the Memmingen Clinic (as of October 27, 2021) with a total of 29 (adults only) people.
Of these, 22 are housed in the normal ward and seven patients in the intensive care unit.
According to this information, no one has currently died of Corona.
