Sad occasion - spectacular fights: in the Schollbach Sports Park, things were going well again.
Erding - Almost 150 spectators came to the Erding Wrestling Show (EWS) to experience an exciting evening.
After a short mourning ceremony in memory of the recently deceased Gianni Turano, who was part of the EWS several times as Carlo Calabria, the event started - according to the motto "The Show must go on".
It was opened by Alex Wonder, who introduced Martyrium, another member of his Saarland team.
In a turbulent team fight, local hero Nobody and the Austrian Michael Kovac won against Quentin Bates and Martyrium.
The next thing on the agenda was a so-called mixed tag team match. A team is formed between a male and a female wrestler. Tracy Winters and Maze prevailed against La Catrina and "Pretty" Ricky Sky.
Then David Whitney, the longest-reigning hardcore champion, stepped into the ring and was rid of his title in seconds after Terrible Ted Jr. hit him on the head in a folding chair.
While Whitney was still holding his head, Matt Mayhem came to the ring from Birkenfeld and challenged Terrible Ted directly, but ultimately had no chance either.
He left it open whether Whitney wants to regain his lost title or end his career.
"I have to think about that first," he said and added with a smile.
"But that can take a while, just as my head is buzzing."

After local hero Robin Vega had won against Elias LeJuge, it was time for the big match of El Dragon, who starred as an actor in "4 Blocks" and the blockbuster "Gunpowder Milkshake", which will soon be released in theaters.
Georges Khoukaz was able to defeat Dragon.
Don Sheen then defended his world title against Dave Blane.
The end of the fight was particularly spectacular because Sheen was able to catch his opponent, who was just coming off the ropes, with his finishing move, the so-called "Sheen leg", and won.
Kevin Kaiden and Deadsaw then defended their tag team title against three other teams.
The main fight denied Hakeem Waqur and Tommy Golden.
The latter got unfair help from Victor Ransom and Max Diamond, who beat the Arab after Waqur's victory.
However, Don Sheen came to the rescue and they repelled the attackers.
Hakeem then brought Carlo Calabria's parents into the ring.
They thanked everyone for the beautiful tribute show for their son.
