Wörth

- Subsidy applications from SV Wörth determined the agenda of the Wörth municipal council meeting on Monday.

For various individual projects it was a total of a maximum of 39,000 euros.

The largest item was the conversion of the floodlight system to sustainable LED technology.

Here, total expenditure of a good 54,700 euros can be assumed, of which around 19,100 euros could be financed through a federal funding program and almost 11,000 euros from the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV). The remaining sum of a maximum of 25,000 euros was discussed at the meeting. Anton Erl (CSU) pleaded for the community to pay the entire rest and argued with the role model function: "That suits us as a community." This opinion was also shared by the ÜPWG councilors Stefan Schimmer and Franz Mayr as well as Wolfgang Behn ( SPD).

Thomas Altmann (SPD / party-free), at the same time chairman of the municipal working group energy and resources, saw the LED conversion as a "super project", but had a different financing proposal with regard to the considerable electricity savings that SV Wörth would gain with it: an interest-free loan, that can be repaid through the amortization. Monika Wenger (Greens) argued in the same direction, especially since 75 percent cost savings can be expected thanks to LED technology. Petra Schletter (Greens) said of the LED project: “I like the idea a lot.” She suggested mixed funding - partly through an interest-free loan, partly through a grant. In the end, it was agreed with three votes against that the deficit should be fully covered by a grant and thus a maximum of 25,000 euros.

Before the decision, Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG) pointed out that another SV Wörth project was to be dealt with at the November meeting: the construction of a new grandstand. Gneißl wanted to know from the committee whether one should not subsidize more cautiously in view of this project. Erl replied: "One application has nothing to do with the other" - an assessment that was shared by a majority.

Three further investment measures by the sports club for 2022 were unanimously decided with 50 percent funding each including a cap. The municipality wants to raise a maximum of 5200 euros for the installation of a ball stop fence at the eastern soccer goal, a maximum of 1800 euros for the repainting of the changing and shower rooms in the old area and a maximum of 3000 euros for the renewal of the fence around the tennis courts on the east side of the site, i.e. a total of up to 3000 euros 10,000 euros. The exact funding amount is calculated using the actual costs.

The annual flat-rate maintenance fee has been increased for both the Wörther and Hörlkofener sports clubs from 2500 euros each to 4000 euros.

This is appropriate because the grant has not been changed since 2004.

Schimmer suggested discussing the various options for court maintenance with both clubs.

The question arises, for example, whether the use of a robotic lawnmower would make sense.

In addition, it was unanimously decided to conclude a new lease agreement between the municipality and SV Wörth until 2040.

In order for the SV to be able to submit grant applications to the BLSV, it needs a contract with a corresponding term.
