According to the ADAC, there were 14,337 accidents involving wildlife in Saxony-Anhalt in 2020.
Compared to the previous year, the number fell by 763. This means that deer crossing was the number one cause of accidents last year, as the ADAC announced on Wednesday.
Magdeburg / Laatzen - The danger of accidents with wildlife is increasing, especially with the time change this coming weekend, warns the ADAC.
This is particularly noticeable on the streets for commuters: While it gets light earlier in the morning, evening rush hour traffic falls into twilight - when the game is also on the move.
In autumn in particular, the animals travel longer distances in search of food and often cross the streets.
According to ADAC, around 13 percent more accidents were recorded in the past few years around the time change.
