Water polo player Tobias Preuss has ended his sporting career.
As the German Swimming Association (DSV) announced on Wednesday, the 33-year-old drew a line after he had not played a game for the DSV team and his club Waspo 98 Hannover for the whole year due to an injury.
Hanover - "With a much more laughing than crying eye, I say goodbye to my active career and look forward to the tasks and adventures ahead," said Preuss in a DSV announcement.
The psychologist, who was born in Berlin, has already started his professional life and now advises organizations on transformation and development issues, primarily in the personnel area.
For the time being, he will remain in competitive sport as an active spokesperson.
His term of office in this post runs until February 2022. He is also applying this Saturday as one of two candidates for the presidency of the Athletes Germany Association, which represents the interests of German team athletes.
