For the time being, there will not be a joint annual parking permit for the southern district.

The Lenggries municipal council put the idea on hold on Monday.

However, it has not yet been completely dropped.

Lenggries -

The municipality of Lenggries took over twelve parking spaces from the Bavarian State Forests this year and introduced parking fees for them.

Some of the surrounding municipalities also levied taxes for the first time this year or have increased the existing fees - also with a view to the rush in the corona year 2020.

In June the SPD parliamentary group suggested considering the introduction of a joint annual parking permit in the southern district.

The administration was commissioned to contact the surrounding communities.

Most communities are open-minded, but see problems with implementation

She did that. The executive officer presented the result to the local council on Monday. "The community of Benediktbeuern welcomes the proposal in principle, but one sees legal problems and therefore sees the implementation as difficult," said Riesch. The municipality of Kochel is fundamentally positive about the introduction. But even there, the implementation is complicated. At the moment, only those who are not subject to the tourist tax can apply for an annual parking permit there. But that actually only applies to those who live in Kochel. Wackersberg does not charge any parking fees at the moment, but is planning to introduce them for an area at the entrance to the Längental. "At the meeting on August 10, the Wackersberg municipal council approved an inter-municipal parking permit," said Riesch.

Mayor would not pursue the topic "at this point in time"

The community of Gaißach rejected this request at the end of September.

Jachenau also has concerns: there are currently only parking permits for their own community citizens and for holders of the guest card.

If you want to expand that, the local council sees "many unclear points - for example the distribution of the proceeds from parking fees among the communities," said Riesch.

That is actually an open question, added Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher (FWG).

"The parking fees are between one and six euros - how do you divide that between the municipalities?" He would not pursue the topic "at this point in time".

The SPD suggests teaming up with Jachenau first

SPD parliamentary group leader Tobias Raphelt did not want to give up so easily. “A majority of the communities are positive about the idea,” he noted. Problems such as redistribution also exist in other areas. "But you could find a solution for that," said Raphelt. He asked to discuss the matter again perhaps next year. His group colleague Sabine Gerg first pleaded for a small solution. “Perhaps they will team up with Jachenau first. Then the others might also see the benefits. ”A joint parking ticket with Jachenau would enable the people of Lenggries to quickly go to Walchensee for a swim. “And maybe you could also bring the forest on board to make the toll cheaper.” Klaffenbacher was quite skeptical here."I don't think the forest is playing along."

The parking ticket may be an issue again in a year or two

Against Gerg's vote, the local council decided not to pursue the issue any further at the moment.

Klaffenbacher: "We can take it up again next year or the year after that."
