The owners of the 20 hospitals in Saarland will receive a total of over 50 million euros in funding for the expansion of digitization.
The majority of almost 35.5 million euros will be paid by the federal government, the rest will be taken over by the state, said the Ministry of Health in Saarbrücken on Wednesday.
The money could be invested in telemedicine, for example, as well as in setting up patient portals, in digital drug management or in modernizing emergency rooms.
