Portraits of all of the city's former mayors hang in Lübeck's town hall.
Bernd Saxe is one of them.
But his portrait is different from that of his predecessors.
Lübeck - In 2018, Bernd Saxe left office as Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck after 18 years.
Now, according to the city, he is to be given a traditional honor.
He gets a portrait in the town hall.
But unlike his 227 predecessors, Saxe did not sit as a model for a painter, but for a photographer, said a spokeswoman for the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
According to the information, the new mayor portrait is to be ceremoniously unveiled in the audience hall of the town hall on Saturday (11.00 a.m.).
Bernd Saxe (SPD) was Mayor of Lübeck from May 1, 2000 to April 30, 2018.
He was confirmed in office twice in direct elections, and before the 2017 election he decided not to run again.
