Celebrity chef Alfons Schuhbeck had to file for bankruptcy in July.

Almost all companies have now been saved.

But to whom Schuhbeck owes his comeback remains unclear at first.

Munich - A good month after the opening of insolvency proceedings against the companies of the Munich celebrity chef Alfons Schuhbeck, most of the group has been saved.

A group of investors will take over the Munich restaurant Südtiroler Stuben, the party service and the spice trade, announced insolvency administrator Max Liebig from the Jaffe law firm on Tuesday.

Schubeck's second restaurant Orlando, however, will remain permanently closed, it said.

The move would save 90 of the former 120 jobs, a spokesman for the insolvency administrator told

The restless celebrity chef should also stay on board.

Schuhbeck and his brand will remain “the basis of the business activities of the transferred companies in the future”, explained Liebig.

Alfons Schuhbeck: Comeback under one roof

According to the plans, the remaining companies are to go to the newly founded Schuhbecks Company GmbH on November 1st, where they will be brought together under one roof.

Before that, the companies were their own subsidiaries under the umbrella of a holding company.

It was initially unclear which investors were behind the new GmbH.

The TV chef had only surprisingly had to file for bankruptcy last July and blamed the lack of Corona aid.

However, the group's economic situation was already tense.

In addition, the star chef was recently targeted by the authorities.

According to the Federal Office of Justice (BFJ) in Bonn, Schubeck has not published any annual reports since 2017.

Now he may face a high fine.
