If you thought Bayern Munich player Lucas Hernandez was going to spend several months in jail, then you were greatly mistaken.
As you may recall, a French national team player was asked to appear in court in Madrid to start serving his prison sentence after he was convicted of violating a restraining order from his partner.
Today (Wednesday) the media in Spain reported that the court accepted the appeal of Hernandez, who eventually received a suspended sentence and a fine only.
As you may recall, Hernandez was accused of violently attacking his partner at Atletico Madrid in 2017.
Following that assault, the court sentenced the left-back to a month of community service and prevented him from approaching his partner, which did not prevent the two from going on a joint honeymoon.
Since Hernandez chose not to comply with the court's order regarding that deportation order, he was required this week to arrive in Madrid immediately in order to begin seeking actual imprisonment (which, as stated, was converted into a suspended sentence only).
