The African Union (AU) announced Wednesday October 27 the suspension of Sudan from all its activities "
until the effective restoration of the Transitional Authority led by civilians
", dissolved the day before after a coup led by soldiers.

In a statement, the pan-African organization "
strongly condemns the seizure of power by the Sudanese army (...) and the dissolution of the Transitional Government, and totally rejects the unconstitutional change of government
", described as "
unacceptable
" and of "an
affront to the shared values and democratic standards of the AU
".
