The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the General Authority for Remote Sensing has warned that most of the forest areas in northwestern Syria are affected by moderate levels of the fire risk index from today until next Friday.
The platform's chairwoman, Dr. Roza Karmouqa, explained to SANA that the indicators of medium fire risk affect most of the forest sites in northwest Syria during the next two days, while the indicators range in some sites between low and high, especially next Friday, calling not to ignite any fires and to report a fire on the area. Garmouqa stated that the Mediterranean forests are currently at the height of the fire season, noting the efforts of the cadres of the Forestry Directorate in all governorates and the forest protection teams for their constant readiness and readiness to confront the fire despite the difficulties and the ruggedness of the forest sites and the firefighting and civil defense regiments for their efforts to intervene to put out fires and prevent their spread.
