In 2006 the SPD gave the impetus for this, and now the starting shot has finally been fired: A swimming pond is finally to be built in Hallbergmoos.

Hallbergmoos

- Not only the Hallbergmoos municipal councils had sparkling eyes when an expert from the “Water Workshop” presented a feasibility study for a natural swimming pool in 2019.

The clear message: the sports and leisure park would be the ideal place for a swimming pond.

Now the municipality is nailing its heads: The building committee has now approved the preliminary draft for the development plan “Special Area Natural Bathing Lake”.

Ideally, construction could start in 2023.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Kick-off in 2006

“This is the starting shot, so to speak,” emphasized a beaming mayor Josef Niedermair.

At the same time, it marks the end of a decade-long search at almost 20 locations for a suitable place for a nature-friendly bathing pond for the population close to a settlement.

The SPD had already given the impetus for this in 2006 - and in 2018, after many unsuccessful attempts, re-bored it again.

The comrades received support from all council groups.

The development plan with a floor area of 0.35 is deliberately designed to be open: “Nothing has yet been defined inside.

We have every freedom to continue planning, ”emphasized the community chief.

800 guests can go swimming every day

The feasibility study for an urban planning concept already showed what could be created on the 11,000 square meter area, which has been fallow agricultural land to date: a 2000 square meter water basin with a water depth of up to 2.20 meters, a children's pool and a planted regeneration area. All around them footbridges and a beach access, children's play areas, sunbathing areas, a building with changing rooms, kiosk, checkout area and technology for biological-mechanical water treatment. 800 guests could go swimming there every day.

The investment costs are currently estimated at 2.5 to 3 million euros, the annual maintenance costs at around 100,000 euros.

The responsible commission (DAVVL) was able to rule out a potential bird strike risk for air traffic at neighboring Munich Airport as early as 2019.

According to the building authority manager Frank Zimmermann, the development plan procedure will take roughly a year.

“Very optimistically calculated”, construction could start in 2023.

Of course, only if other, more urgent measures do not intervene.
