An extraordinary case is stirring the Jerusalem District Court.
A grandfather, who is accused of indecent acts on his granddaughters, denies what is attributed to him - and points an accusing finger at their other grandfather, implying that he is the one who sexually assaulted the granddaughters.
The affair began about a year ago, with the arrest of the defendant following the testimony of his granddaughters before child investigators, according to which their grandfather committed indecent acts on them.
The accused grandfather, who denied the suspicions, claimed that he had never harmed his granddaughters and pointed out a series of difficulties in the granddaughters' testimonies, which he claimed were contradictory.
The grandfather further claimed that the places where the acts were committed, according to the granddaughters, do not exist in reality and that even though one of them claimed that her sister saw him hurting her - the nurse herself denied the things.
Attorney Ariel Atari, representing the defendant, argued during the trial that the case of the other grandfather - who has since passed away - injured the current grandfather.

Due to their young age the complaining granddaughters were interrogated by child interrogators and their testimony was banned, so they could not be questioned during the trial.
Accordingly, Atari filed an unusual request for full information on the other grandfather's previous convictions, and he said he knew for sure that the grandfather had previously been convicted of sexual offenses against minors and running a lengthy prison sentence.
Atari also pointed out that even after his release from prison, a new case was opened against his grandfather on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child.
According to the defendant, the granddaughter's father - who is the son of the other grandfather - seeks revenge on him after years in which the father was criticized by the family in connection with the actions of his father, the convicted sex offender.
A decision on the discovery of the material is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
