Now it is official: The Freising City Council has made the final decision to start cooperative building in the north of Freising.

Freising

- city architect Barbara Schelle spoke of a "very good response".

What was meant was the demand for participation in cooperative building in the Steinpark, as the city is currently getting on its feet.

Now the city council has taken the final decision to tackle cooperative building in the north of Freising.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

After the planning committee had already been informed about the project at the beginning of October and had given the green light, it was now the turn of the city council.

Natalie Schaller from Stattbau GmbH, who has been accompanying and supporting the city of Freising in this project since 2018, once again explained the key points: A differentiated housing offer is just as much a part of the goals as the participation of future residents in the usage concept and design and sustainability.

According to the current profitability calculation, a rental price limit of 12.20 euros should be adhered to, the proportion of social housing construction should be up to 30 percent, and the application effort for the cooperatives should be kept as low as possible.

At the beginning of 2022, the 8,650 square meter area in the very north of the Steinpark - the so-called city balcony - is to be put out to tender.

The city council unanimously sent the project on its way.

Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher was sure that this project would be a great enrichment for the Steinpark district: "This will not be our last cooperative project."
