An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked the state of Alaska in the northwest of the United States today.
Reuters quoted the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying that the epicenter of the tremor was located at a depth of 40 km.
There were no reports of casualties, material damage, or warnings of tsunami waves following the quake.
