The US Meteorological Service announced that more than 600,000 homes were without electricity today as a result of the coastal storm that hit the northeastern United States.
The AP quoted the service as saying that the state of Massachusetts was the most affected, as 664,000 homes were without electricity, describing the situation as dangerous. It also warned of the danger of winds that reached 140 kilometers per hour, calling not to move, especially in Boston, the largest city in the state.
Rhode Island was also hit hard, with 19,000 homes deprived of electricity.
The situation is expected to improve at a later time, according to the US Meteorological Service, which confirms that the coastal storm will move away from the northeastern United States.
