The government wants to allow the smaller players in the sector to benefit from the resumption of orders from the largest manufacturers.

The government announced on Thursday a new aid scheme for SMEs in the aeronautical sector, at a time when production rates are picking up, in particular at Airbus.

"

In order to allow the entire French aeronautics sector to benefit from these positive prospects, the government is launching an additional support mechanism, intended for the most vulnerable SMEs in the aeronautics sector

", specified the cabinet of the Minister Delegate. responsible for Industry, Agnès Pannier-Runacher.

This device, financed as part of the 15 billion euros revival plan for the aeronautics sector unveiled in mid-2020, will be operated by the Groupement des industries française Aéronautiques et Spatiales (Gifas), said the Minister. ministry in a press release.

Up to 3 million euros will thus be redeployed to “

support around 150 companies

”.

At a time when "

the prospects for recovery in certain segments (in particular single-aisle) give visibility to manufacturers

", this system should help aeronautical SMEs to enable them to "

build a strategy for going through and out of the crisis

" , notably via advice in particular as regards "

diagnosis, diversification, preparation for ramp-up

", according to the same source.

Airbus, which published its quarterly financial results Thursday morning, aims in the fourth quarter to produce 45 single-aisle A320 family against 40 during the crisis.

It now expects 65 devices per month in the summer of 2023.
