Prosecuted for having posted an anti-Semitic video on the YouTube platform, the far-right activist Hervé Lalin, known as Ryssen, saw his sentence reduced Thursday, October 28 before the Paris Court of Appeal to 4 months in prison, suitable for detention in home with an electronic bracelet.

At first instance, in June 2018, Hervé Lalin was sentenced to one year in prison.

Hervé Lalin had been found guilty of public provocation to hatred on account of the origin and of defamation.

He had not appealed on this point but only on the quantum of the sentence.

Many times condemned

This far-right activist has already been convicted on numerous occasions for anti-Semitic remarks. Last June, he was thus sentenced to eight months in prison under an electronic bracelet and a fine of 10,000 euros for defamation and public incitement to hatred towards Jews, in recidivism, for having republished on his blog, on March 12, 2020, the offending video.

Hervé Lalin, former member of the Front National, who presents himself as a writer and director, has been convicted more than fifteen times for similar offenses - defamation, insult or incitement to hatred because of race or religion .

He was sentenced in May on appeal to one year of imprisonment including six months fixed, also to be served at home, for contesting a crime against humanity and anti-Semitic insult in particular.

Incarcerated in September 2020 in execution of three sentences handed down between 2017 and 2020, the 54-year-old man was released in mid-April.
