China once again called on the United States to respect the one-China principle, abide by the three joint communiques between Beijing and Washington, and refrain from dealing with Taiwan.
At a press conference today, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin reiterated China's resolute opposition to any form of official exchanges and military relations between the United States and the Taiwan region, and opposition to US interference in China's internal affairs.
Wenbin pointed out that recently, US ships have repeatedly appeared in the Taiwan Strait and sent dangerous wrong signals to the so-called "Taiwan independence" forces, which would threaten peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, stressing China's unity and that no country should underestimate the people's insistence. China's strong will to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Commenting on US statements about China's recent test of a hypersonic missile, which it described as very alarming, the spokesman said that China recently stated that this test is routine for the spacecraft, as China works with other countries in the world to promote the peaceful use of space and the happiness of mankind through it.
