The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, discussed with the President of the Russian State Pedagogical University Professor Alexei Lobkov ways to enhance cooperation in the educational and cultural fields between Syria and Russia.

During the meeting, which was held at the university’s headquarters in Moscow today, Dr. Tabbaa stressed that the Syrian side is looking forward to consolidating cooperation with Russian educational and educational institutions, developing Russian language teaching in Syrian schools, and Arabic language in Russian schools, exchanging teachers, students, textbooks, delegations of specialists and experts, as well as exchanging experiences in the framework of education. The default in the two countries.

In turn, Lobkov said that this meeting is evidence of the high level of relations between Russia and Syria in the field of education, and that it contributes to the development of a comprehensive dialogue between the two sides, stressing that Russia attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Syria, especially after taking concrete steps and establishing firm bases in this regard.

The participants in the meeting from both sides indicated that building the relationship between educational and educational institutions in Syria and Russia began two years ago and is yielding fruitful results on both sides, who are making all possible efforts to move forward in teaching Russian in Syria and Arabic in Russia, considering that language is an important tool for communication between peoples and the development of Cultural and civilizational exchange.

The participants expressed the determination of the Syrian and Russian sides to overcome difficulties and advance the distinguished model of the close relationship between the two peoples and countries.

During the meeting, an agreement for cooperation and exchange of experience was signed between Damascus University and the Russian State Pedagogical University.

In an interview with SANA’s correspondent in Moscow, Dr. Tabbaa said that today’s meeting “discussed the development of Russian language teaching tools in Syrian schools in cooperation with the Russian State Pedagogical University and the participation of teachers and the specialized educational system in Russia in a way that could develop and enrich Russian language education.”

Dr. Tabbaa pointed out that all the Russian and Syrian sides agreed that there would be a joint work program that would develop the two countries' relations through a number of joint activities.

In a similar interview, the President of the Russian State Pedagogical University said, "We have been cooperating with Syria for years, and we hope that the Syrian delegation's current visit will add a new impetus to our joint cooperation."

Lubkov added, "The meeting of the ministers of education in the two countries yesterday yielded good results, and we are now in the process of developing plans to implement what was agreed upon, and we will be in Syria in a few weeks for that."

For her part, Director of the University's Institute of Languages, Yelena Chernyshova, stressed that the exchange between the ancient Syrian culture and the huge Russian culture opens the way for the unification of educational curricula.

Chernyshova explained that today's discussions showed the determination of both sides to deepen cooperation in the educational field, stressing Russia's determination to strengthen and improve the level of the Russian language in Syria.

In turn, the head of the World Christian Union in Russia Alexei Cherkezov stressed that Syria is one of the countries that carry historical spiritual values ​​to the whole world, pointing out that his organization is working to provide aid to Syrian citizens to enhance their steadfastness in their homeland and land.

“We cooperate with educational institutions in Syria and try to provide various aspects of assistance to serve the interests of the Syrian people,” Cherkesov said, noting that the Russian State Pedagogical University is one of the partner bodies of the World Christian Union and is the main institution for preparing and qualifying educational teachers in Russia.

For her part, a member of the Syrian delegation, Dana Bashkour, focused on the importance of this visit to develop directions of cooperation in the educational field with Russia, and said, "The signing of the agreement between Damascus University and the State Educational University enhances and develops Russian language education in Syria, and will later result in agreements and work items between the two sides."

In a similar interview, the head of the Excellence and Creativity Authority, Engineer Hala Dakkak, confirmed that the students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad who participate in international competitions, and after graduating from the School of Excellence and completing their university studies, complete their higher studies, including master's and doctoral degrees in Russia.

"Currently, there are 200 distinguished students in Russia, and every year the number increases between 40 and 50 students, as they study in the three largest Russian cities and in the Russian language within the specializations of programming, engineering, laser and others," pointing to the importance of the participation of Syrian students in school camps alongside Russian students to learn and master Russian language because language is the primary carrier of culture, values ​​and principles.

The Syrian delegation had participated in the opening of the seventh annual Moscow International Forum for Peace and Religion under the slogan (Religious and Cultural Dialogue in the Contemporary World Space).

His visit also included the signing of a cooperation agreement and the exchange of experience between the Syrian Trust for Development and the World Christian Union, and a memorandum of scientific cooperation between the Excellence and Creativity Authority and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
