Over the years there had been slipped embankments and partial closures at the Helenesee again and again.
The south bank was closed in 2010.
According to an estimate by the State Mining Authority, the renovation could cost 40 to 60 million euros.
According to Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (SPD), it must first be clarified who is responsible for the renovation and who is financially responsible.
Compensation for the affected entrepreneurs at the Helenesee could not be initiated for that long either.
