In view of this development, schoolchildren in Bavaria will probably have to wear masks again in class after the autumn break - i.e. from November 8th.
This is to be finally decided in a special session of the cabinet in the coming week.
This was announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) in Munich on Thursday.
How long the mask requirement should apply should also be discussed next week.

The mask is the fastest and easiest form of protection, said Söder.
Already after the summer holidays, schoolchildren had to wear masks on the square - but this comprehensive mask requirement expired as planned after a few weeks.
Politics department head Christian Deutschländer from Münchner Merkur confirms this message.
According to the current state of affairs, however, there should not be a lockdown - even for unvaccinated people.
