Tehran-Sana
Iran reiterated the need to resolve the crisis in Syria politically based on respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing at the same time the need for all foreign forces present illegally on Syrian territory to leave.
Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi, called during a session of the UN Security Council yesterday not to politicize the issue of humanitarian aid and to abolish unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, in addition to supporting efforts to rebuild what was destroyed by terrorism.
Iran's permanent representative condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, which constitute a flagrant violation of international laws and regional and international peace and security, stressing Syria's right to defend itself and calling on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities to pressure the occupation entity to stop its aggression and end its occupation of the Syrian Golan.
With regard to the meetings of the Constitutional Discussion Committee in Geneva, the representative of Iran pointed to the necessity of not interfering in the work of the committee, and said, “Determining any artificial deadline for the end of the committee’s activities or any other conditions of this kind negatively affects the work of the committee, so it must be refrained from.”
