The police arrested a man from Jena on Wednesday evening who had previously threatened the participants of a celebration with a knife in Oppurg (Saale-Orla district).
As the officials announced on Thursday, the 37-year-old German had cut open a party tent with a knife on Wednesday evening.
There he verbally attacked the guests and threatened them with his knife.
Berlin - Several celebrations finally alerted the police.
A connection between the man and the party guests is not known, said a spokeswoman for the Thuringia Saalfeld police on Thursday.
Then the man fled.
The police officers found him a short time later - he reportedly set fire to a building next to the party tent.
