The state budget was approved tonight (Thursday) for a second and third reading in the Knesset's Finance Committee. Opposition members recorded a significant achievement, two days after lifting the boycott of the Knesset committees, when they managed to transfer NIS 91 million to their demands, as part of the coalition funds. The funds will be transferred, among other things, to the Shas Maayan Torah Education Network, the independent education affiliated with Torah Judaism, Jewish culture, the director of Jewish identity, the development of the Negev and the Galilee, and more. The

The opposition managed to get what it wanted after submitting more than 30,000 reservations and for six hours hundreds of them reasoned.

This move was supposed to extend the debate for long days, in order to stop the coalition with the approval of the budget.

The committee's chairman, MK Alex Kushnir, demanded that rules be set in order to block the opposition's step and delimit the length of the discussion.

Opposition members rejected the offer, attacking it and claiming that it was "the only tool left" for them.

After a break and talks between Knesset members from the coalition and the opposition, the parties reached an agreement on the allocation of coalition funds for various purposes. Following this, the opposition drew several thousand reservations, and the committee voted on the rest. At the height of the long night, and at the end of lengthy discussions, a vote was taken on the budget laws, and the laws were approved for a second and third reading.

The discussion tonight provided some amusing moments, and one of them was in the morning when the chairman of Ra'am, Mansour Abbas, asked MK Azulai of Shas to hand him the booklet of reservations he had compiled, and in response the committee's chairman, MK Kushnir, began to suspect : "Do I need to know something I do not know?". Even when MK Azulai of Shas announced that he had decided to remove thousands of reservations following the agreements, he was amused: "I worked hard on it, not to underestimate it," and the coalition MKs replied: He replied in response: "In the next budget,This will already be your job in front of us.
