It's not a game anymore

Cybercriminals are exploiting the success of the "squid game" for their dubious needs.

Lux Stepenko, a damage researcher at information security company ESET, has discovered that the unofficial "Squid Game" screensaver and wallpaper app, which was until recently available for download from the Google Store, floods users' phones with harmful ads and even unsolicited SMS service subscriptions.

The app, Squid Game Wallpaper 4K HD, was downloaded from the store about 5,000 times until Google removed it, but that does not guarantee it may not return under a different name.

So how do you avoid downloading malicious apps?

The risk is always there, but it is important to exercise discretion, to see who is behind the app that you like, and try to install only official apps that come from reputable companies.

If you still have an app that behaves suspiciously, hurry to delete it and it is also desirable to restart the phone.

Anyone who is still apprehensive can use protection software.

Out of the picture

Google's new and welcome feature allows minors and their guardians to request removal of images less than 18 years old from search engine results.

To do this, a detailed request must be sent to Google identifying the minor and confirming his age, accompanied by proof that the applicant is the minor himself or an authorized representative on his behalf.

Each request will be examined individually by Google and will be answered accordingly, but the company reserves the right to refuse requests and may even refrain from removing images related to current issues and / or of public interest.

In the event of a refusal, Google will provide an explanation for the decision and allow applicants to display additional information that may help reverse it.

It is also important to emphasize that while the images will be removed from the search results, they will not be removed from the site to which the search refers.

Therefore, Google recommends contacting the site owners, if necessary, and demanding that the image be downloaded, including monitoring children's browsing and media sharing habits.

And socks are missing

One of the most bizarre accessories that Apple has launched over the years is the iPods Socks, a kind of colorful and tiny sock cases designed to protect our sophisticated iPods from falls, scratches and other existential threats.

The socks went on the market in 2004 and were considered a kind of hit, but Apple stopped marketing them in 2012, because between us, how many more people are walking around with an iPod?

Still, as a tribute to that mythological sock, Native Union, a company that specializes in accessories for Apple products, announced the Airpods Beanie.

This is an equally colorful and tiny sock case, the whole purpose of which is to keep our Airpods headphones on, and perhaps also to detail the strings of nostalgia, since the great similarity between the two products is certainly not accidental.

A pack of four socks (or in this case, the exact description is a sock hat - Beanie) costs about 70 shekels on the official website.

Surprisingly it turns out that these things are in demand, because at the moment their stock has run out and the company promises to renew it soon.

Who sailed my cheese?

A small autonomous passenger boat, developed by the Massachusetts Technology Center (MIT), is launched today (October 28) in Amsterdam.

The boat, known as the Roboat, is capable of transporting five people together, sailing for ten consecutive hours after a full electric charge, navigating and docking on its own, and is even equipped with peripheral cameras that help it avoid accidents.

The famous canal system of the Dutch capital is without a doubt the perfect place to try the smart robotic boats on wet, and we are holding fingers that the venture will indeed hit waves and provide in the not too distant future a greener, quieter and more efficient alternative to polluting vessels.
