Sauerlach

- customer contact was sometimes more direct: If you want to call the Sparkasse branch in Sauerlach, you first dial a Munich number and then end up in a call center in Halle if necessary.

There you are not very familiar with the Munich area (“Where is Sauerlach?”), But gives friendly information: No, if you want to speak to your local bank advisor, you have to go straight to the branch.

Otherwise, concerns are processed via the service center, and yes, transfers using paper forms are still possible, explains a bank employee.

The future of the post shop is unclear

How long and whether letters and parcels can still be posted at the Sauerlach center is still unclear. For 17 years, Doreen Scharz and Kurt Fatschinger ran a "Deutsche Post partner branch" in their bicycle shop on Tegernseer Landstrasse. But that should end by the end of the year: Fatschinger has terminated the contract with the Post, as he explains, “six days a week, just too much stress. We have been doing this long enough ”. The post office will then move to the Edeka store diagonally across the street, says Kurt Fatschinger. Nobody in the market itself wants to confirm this, rather they refer to higher-level authorities, in this case to Edeka Südbayern in Gaimersheim. A request from Münchner Merkur has so far remained unanswered.

Mayor Barbara Bogner (UBV) does not know exactly either: On the sidelines of the municipal council meeting last Tuesday evening, she was only partially optimistic. “I only believe that when there is a signature on the contract.” The municipality is currently “talking to potential tenants” in matters of the post office, according to the latest draft resolution.

Two examples that show that local supply can be a fragile matter.

In this respect, the application made by the CSU local association in Sauerlach in September of this year should also be seen as an attempt to ensure a certain degree of stability.

The application is aimed at securing local supplies in the center of the town in the long term, according to council member Markus Hoffmann (CSU).

“Local supply is about shopping for groceries in the town center, but also generally about goods and services for everyday use", that is to say, for example, "the acute issue" of the post office, but also banking services.

Think of senior citizens

“On the one hand, the whole thing is a matter of accessibility for older people. Often, because mobility is no longer possible, it is necessary to be within walking distance, which is only good in the town center, ”emphasizes Hoffmann. In addition, not everyone wants or is not able to do everything digitally. This would particularly affect older citizens, “but of course also everyone who is looking for personal contact. A balance between online and the services that can still be carried out on site is therefore necessary ”. Markus Hoffmann also sees this as a social component and ultimately a piece of quality of life: "Everything that happens along Munich and Tegernseer Strasse keeps the place alive and ensures personal encounters." In addition, the whole thing is an ecological issue: Who Can go shopping on foot or by bike,is more likely to do without the car, according to his calculation.

Two votes against concept

Nevertheless, it must be worthwhile for retailers.

Barbara Bogner therefore appealed "to everyone who is sitting here in the hall: Please go shopping at Edeka in the center!"

Bernhard Lederer (UBV) asked: “What should be in there?” He pleaded for “just do it”, but without a concept.

Ursula Gresser (FDP) sees it similarly, she considers the motion to be simply superfluous: “The community is already trying everything!” Both community councils voted against the proposed resolution.
