The term of the sixth Legislative Council is coming to an end. The President of the Legislative Council, Mr. Leung Junyan, held a year-end press conference this morning (28th) to summarize the operation of the current Legislative Council. Liang Junyan pointed out that the performance of the parliament extension for one year has made breakthroughs while benefiting the people's livelihood. The appropriations and bills passed have broken records.

Liang Junyan pointed out that the 2020/21 Legislative Council will be three months longer than the previous legislative years, and 49 meetings will be held in total. The current Legislative Council held a total of 17 questions and answers sessions for the Chief Executive and 18 short question and answer sessions.

Liang Junyan mentioned that the government has submitted 128 bills to the Legislative Council this term, of which 124 bills have been passed, which is about 50% more than the previous term.
