The number of unemployed in Hesse continued to decline in October. As of October 12th, 163,217 people were registered as unemployed, as the regional directorate of the employment agency reported on Thursday in Frankfurt. That was a good 5,000 fewer than in September and almost 31,000 fewer than in October 2020. The unemployment rate fell by a further 0.2 percentage points to 4.7 percent.

Frankfurt / Main - "The Hessian labor market is gradually leaving the crisis behind," said Frank Martin, head of the management.

"The demand for labor is constant and, with the exception of the catering and manufacturing industries, all sectors recorded an increase in the number of their jobs subject to social security contributions."
