Unemployment in Brandenburg continues to decline.
In October 71,264 women and men were registered as unemployed.
That was 1830 less than in September and 9957 less than in October 2020, as the Federal Employment Agency announced on Thursday.
The unemployment rate was 5.3 percent, 0.2 percentage points lower than in the previous month and 0.8 percentage points lower than a year earlier.
Berlin - After a sharp rise in the number of unemployed, Brandenburg had already reached the pre-Corona level again in late summer.
The Agency Regional Directorate Berlin-Brandenburg also expects positive development in the next few months, unless there are new corona restrictions or material shortages for the manufacturing industry.
“The trend in employment is pointing upwards,” said Ramona Schröder, head of the department.
Short-time working is also falling.
According to the latest available figures, 19,375 people in Brandenburg were still on short-time work in July, a good 12,000 fewer than in the previous month.
