Currently, the major project for the change request for the landscape protection area is still behind schedule.

New government wants to speed up the process
The responsible working group Windenergie Hofoldinger Forst, ARGE for short, wants to submit the approval documents for the three wind turbines by mid-2022.
As a rule, the approval of a plant takes six months, said project manager Robert Sing on Tuesday evening at an information event in Aying.
This time things could go faster: "The new government wants to make the processes faster," said the energy engineer.
Sing did not know whether the new pace would already be applied to the wind farm in the Hofoldinger Forest.
The ARGE consists of the communities of Aying, Sauerlach and Otterfing as well as the districts of Munich and Miesbach.
In 2013 the municipalities decided to jointly build wind turbines in the Hofoldinger Forest.
Brunnthal has since withdrawn from the project, which is why not four, but three wind turbines are to be built on the A8.

Land could also be assigned to external municipalities
Other municipalities or investors cannot build wind turbines in the Hofolding Forest, said Sing. That is due to the owner of the forest, the Bavarian State Forests: The authority only leases land with the consent of the municipalities concerned.
The community of Weyarn recently expressed interest in a wind turbine in the Hofoldinger Forest.
“However, the state forests intend to radically change their awarding practice,” says Sing when asked by Münchner Merkur.
Details are not known, but with a more wind energy-friendly federal government, additional pressure could arise on suitable areas for wind turbines.

18 million euros project costs
The cost of building the three wind turbines is around 18 million euros.
Robert Sing gives the return on equity at around five percent.
Mayor Peter Wagner (CSU) wants to found a GmbH & Co. KG for the project.
All Ayingers should have the opportunity to join the project.
Therefore, for the time being, the deposits should be limited to 10,000 euros per person.
He has already received inquiries from other municipalities, such as Ismaning, who want to contribute financially to the construction of the wind turbines.
He gave them a rejection: "We have them there, we have to look at them, we should benefit from them," he said on Tuesday evening.
There were only a few critical questions from Ayinger on the information evening.
For the people in Aying, wind turbines in the Hofoldinger Forest are a “well-known topic”, said Sing. That's right, the working group is a good eight years old.
