Dar Al-Assad Theater for Culture in Lattakia hosted, for two days, a theatrical performance entitled The Pink Hole presented by the Syrian Charitable Society for Breast Cancer in cooperation with the Clacket Theatrical Troupe as part of the activities of the Pink Month, which started at the beginning of the month.

The show, which was written by the writer Margaret Jamal and directed by Jaafar Darwish, comes within the activities of the association to introduce breast cancer and the importance of early detection to raise through the theater the human fears of disease, the future, love and death in the framework of an artistic work far from stereotyped according to the director of the work, Darwish.

Darwish, who noted the importance of this experience with the association, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the show confirms that there are social diseases that are no less dangerous than cancer, pointing out that he works to highlight these diseases within the framework of the theater, in turn, presenting a message that concerns the community and raises its concerns and pains.

For her part, the writer Jamal saw that the idea of ​​the work came to say that cancer is not only a disease that comes on the human body, but may come in the form of thoughts, feelings and feelings that eliminate dreams and prevent the person from moving towards any goal. About himself and face his fears.

Dr. Safwan Abdeen, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, pointed out that the Society chose, at the end of the pink month, to go to the community through the theater to introduce the danger of breast cancer through a presentation in an artistic form that touches people’s concerns while establishing the idea that early detection of the disease means complete recovery to make it a culture for women.

In turn, Ahmed Walid Berro, the honorary president of the association, stated that the tenth month of each year is the international month for breast cancer awareness, and that the association carries out awareness campaigns throughout the year through lectures and events to reach all segments of society and introduce the importance of early examination to prevent the disease.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Charitable Society for Breast Cancer is a civil society founded in Lattakia Governorate in 2008 and includes medical, social and cultural cadres. It also contains modern medical equipment for early detection of breast cancer.
