At the end of the activities of the Mediterranean Day, the Syrian Coastal Society for the Protection of the Environment organized a cleanliness campaign on the southern Corniche beach in cooperation with Lattakia Governorate, the Tourism and Environment Directorates, and a number of associations and events concerned with preserving the environment and people.

In a statement to SANA's reporter during the campaign, which was launched in front of Al-Jagnoon Café, Dr. Suhair Al-Rayes, chair of the association's board of directors, indicated that the campaign aims to deliver a message to the local community and the general public about the necessity of not throwing waste on beaches and in the sea.

Engineer Ammar Al-Qusiri, director of hygiene in Lattakia City Council, explained that the necessary mechanisms and materials for the campaign were secured by the governorate, expressing his hope that the campaign would be a good sign for the work of associations concerned with preserving the environment in the future.

Daad Aji, head of the Ethar Charitable Society in Lattakia, pointed out that our efforts must be combined with government efforts to maintain a healthy and healthy environment and to raise pollution in its physical and visual forms, which in turn affects public health.

The activist Daad Qanoua pointed out that the wide participation in the campaign in a voluntary and spontaneous manner is evidence of the high emotional and patriotic sense of citizens, pointing to the importance of dedicating a culture of waste recycling and benefiting from it for multiple purposes.

Hadi Al-Marqabi, a student in the Navigation Department at the Arab Academy, noted that the celebration of this day expresses the importance of a clean environment and conveys a message of the need to strengthen these concepts to become a general social condition and daily behavior for all citizens.

The activities of the Mediterranean Day opened yesterday under the title Together to protect our marine environment at the Cultural Center in Lattakia with lectures on the reality and ways of preserving the environment.
