With great ambition and confidence in excellence and winning the women’s football general league title, the Homs Governorate team is preparing to enter the league, which begins tomorrow against Al-Wahda team.

Lama Al-Tabbaa, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Governorate Club, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the team continued its intensive training during the last period, despite the many difficulties it faced, the most important of which was the difficulty of securing training grounds, noting that the cooperation of the club’s management with the team and its training staff contributed to overcoming these difficulties.

She said: Our ambition for this season is to achieve the championship, as the Homs women's team is the only representative of the governorate in the league, and any achievement of it will raise the level of female football in Homs, noting that the team won the runner-up position during the past two seasons of the league.

In turn, the team’s coach, Fadi Saad, stated that the team recently undertook intensive training on the grounds of the Al-Baath facility stadium, and that the training focused on raising the technical level and physical fitness and achieving harmony among the team’s players. It also witnessed the participation of all the players in addition to the young players who recently won second place in the section’s championship.

He pointed out that the Homs women's team will start its journey in the league by meeting the Al-Wahda women's team on the grounds of Manshaat Al-Baath Stadium and to the ambition that the start will be successful, especially since the competitor has highly experienced players.

The Khabour women won the title last season, while the Homs women won second place.
