Moscow-Sana

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani discussed efforts to return to implementing the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the international group of powers in 2015.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the main interest in the consultations between Ryabkov and Bagheri Kni focused on the prospects for multilateral efforts to restore the sustainable implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program, stressing that work in this direction must continue.

The statement pointed out that the two sides discussed a wide range of issues on the international agenda and some aspects of developing bilateral relations.

In turn, Bagheri Kani announced that Russia and China support negotiations that can lead to tangible results.

Baqeri Kani described his talks with the coordinator of the European Joint Committee for the Nuclear Agreement, Enrique Mora in Brussels, as constructive, serious and frank, and said we have put forward the requirements and necessities that must be taken into account in these talks, which Mora will discuss with the other parties in the four plus one group.

Bagheri Kani stressed that the most important thing in any new round of talks is the readiness of the other side to take a decision on lifting the unjust and illegal sanctions on Iran.
